Marshall Municipal Utilities offers rebates for the purchase of energy saving LED holiday lighting.

LED or Light Emitting Diode holiday light strings use solid state LED lamps to produce light in place of standard incandescent bulbs. LED holiday light strings use 75% to 90% less energy than incandescent bulbs, come in many shapes, styles, and colors, last up to 10 times longer, are much more durable, and are cool to the touch for increased safety.

The rebate amount is $3.50 per light string or the purchase price of the new lighting, whichever is less.

To qualify for your rebate, you will need to fill out and sign a Holiday Lighting Rebate Application Form and return it to MMU along with the following:

1) The original receipt for your new lighting.

2) The packaging from the new holiday light strings.

After receipt of your completed application, MMU will issue a credit on your next utility billing.

LED holiday light strings can be purchased at most hardware stores, home improvement stores, and discount centers.

Look for Holiday Light Strings with the ENERGY STAR^® logo to insure maximum energy savings, high quality, safety, and a 3 year minimum warranty. To view a list of qualifying products, visit the ENERGY STAR^® website.
