CUSTOMER SERVICE SUPERVISOR POSITION

Customer Service Supervisor - Marshall Municipal Utilities (MMU), located in Marshall, Minnesota, is accepting applications for a Customer Service Supervisor (CSS) position. Under the direction of the Customer Service Manager, the Customer Service Supervisor serves as a first level supervisor with primary responsibility to direct the daily operations of Marshall Municipal Utilities' customer service activities. This position is reponsible to assist in the supervision of customer service representatives and participate in maintaining outstanding customer service as per MMU standards.  

This position is also responsible for assisting the Customer Service Manager in overseeing and participating in various direct service programs and billing requests within the department, providing suggestions to improve efficiencies and effectiveness within the department, assisting in accomplishing organizational goals by accepting ownership of new and different requests; and exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

Required qualifications include:

  • Graduation from an accredited four year program with a degree in Communications, Business Administration, or closely related field.
  • Five years of experience in customer service.
  • Three or more years of supervisory experience working with public contact.
  • Proven ability to supervise and train staff including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling work assignments.
  • Proven ability in effectively dealing with and resolving problems under a variety of circumstances.
  • Experience with an automated billing system preparing and analyzing billing reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and knowledge of general office operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to compose correspondences and use information in developing reports.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Customer service experience in the utility industry.

Compensation for this position ranges from $64,779 to $80,973 commensurate with experience and qualifications. MMU also offers an excellent benefits package.
